Alice was my very first car. I bought her for $7,000 12 years ago before I moved to Nashville.
Today we sold her for $300. Seems like she should have been more valuable than that given the number of years we spent together and the number of miles we logged. Oh well, she went off to be the first car for another teenager.
Anyone have a guess which famous TV “Alice” I named her after?
Tomorrow at Cross Point Nashville you’ll have the opportunity to sign up for a small group. If you have never been a part of a community group, I encourage you to give it a try. I know that the idea of a small group of people meeting in someone’s home can be a little intimidating, especially if you haven’t been around here that long, but I promise if you will give it a try you’ll find a group of people who are just as eager to create friendships and grow in their faith together. There will be approximately 20 groups featured in the lobby tomorrow. Make time to stop, talk to some of the leaders and sign up!

My head is full and it’s only day 1!
There is so much to talk about, but I’m not sure where to begin. The beauty is that I’m connecting with a bunch of great bloggers who are blogging live from Q. Here are a few blogs that you should check out to learn more about our experience – it’s worth it!

Well, not really, but I don’t have a jam-packed, over-committed schedule today. In fact the two things that were scheduled – my 11 mile run and my husband’s softball games* – are not happening because of the rain. This leaves me with an open day. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’ve got a ”to do” list a mile long and laundry and a dirty house that are screaming for attention, but rarely do I have a day where there is not some demand that is scheduled and begging for my time and attention.
So, now I get to choose my day, I get to choose the things I want to do rather than the things I have to do. Where do I start?
*For those of you who play softball with Merlyn, I’m making the assumption that you can’t play in a pond, but I don’t know if they have officially cancelled the games yet.
There is a cool website called GoodSearch that makes donations to non-profit organizations for on-line searches and shopping. I have been using this sight for nearly a year and directing my donations to Refined Inc., the non-profit company that I co-founded that is designed to equip church leaders with tools and resources to enhance and support their ministry.
