What are You Pursuing?

8 Comments 06 January 2010

Always striving, always pursuing…

More

Perfection

Better

Stuff

Knowledge

Influence

Acknowledgement

Validity

Acceptance

I’m always striving… always pursuing something.  Can you relate to this?  Maybe you can add a few more things to the list.

It’s so easy to find ourselves in the constant pursuit of more, but I’m continuing to realize that I tend to want more of the wrong things.

This Sunday we launch our new series “Pursuit” at Cross Point.  As we dive into the book of Proverbs, we’ll learn how the pursuit of wisdom is all the “more” we need.

We also have a great video you can check out HERE. (For some reason I couldn’t get it to embed correctly.)

Hope you’ll join us this Sunday!

Service Times:
Dickson Campus: 9:00 & 11:00 AM

Nashville Campus: 8:30, 10:00, 11:30 AM & 6:00 PM

North Campus: 9:00 & 11:00 AM

What do you find yourself constantly striving for… pursuing?

I'm always striving for purpose. It always leaves me feeling empty. :(

I'm eager to hear the series. I'm not used to being part of a church where I actually look forward to every new sermon series. I like it. :)

  4. I'm a doer pursuing destiny and purpose. My family is riddle with aborted dreams and abandoned purposes. I don't want to have that kind of "leaf" for my own children (should God bless me with them) to struggle with. But because I am so forward thinking, I find myself living in the "in-between" and that is frustrating.

answers….i want it all figured out and neat and orderly. but life – and people – are rarely neat and orderly. it drives me nuts! :) So this year I am pursuing peace. Quit striving, quit trying to figure it all out, quit having to have an answer or know all the steps and learn to just be with God and others in life as it is right now, to become more like Christ, to live a little instead of trying to figure it all out – to choose to rest in God, to trust Him. Proverbs 3:5-8 are my verses for 2010 and my word is peace. I know God will use the sermon on Sunday to speak to my haert.

to belong…. I guess its tied in with the acceptance thing.

to be of value….to God, to other people…

to make a difference….to have a meaning in this crazy life.
