Need I say more?

Do any of you actually agree on a temperate at your house?

  1. The way to solve that is to go with the coldest temp, because the other person can always put more layers on LOL, and I say that because I’m usually the cold blooded one in the house, being from Michigan!

  2. No, we don’t. I’m usually hot and don’t want to be. Greg is fine being hot.

  3. Jenn says:

hardly ever…I love it when Heath is out of town and the temp is mine to control! I am always cold….even in winter but I hate to sweat…poor Heath has to deal with that odd mix all the time!

  4. JudiFree.com says:

yes yes yes. I like it at 72, he likes it at 70. I like the fan off, he likes it on.

I live with a blanket on at my house.

  5. Vic says:

I have to say we do. We keep it set on 69 year round. Even though I will have to say we are trying to adjust to higher temperatures but we have not been very successful

  6. jodyduncan says:

Karen is having hot flashes lately sothat has benefited my hot nature. We usually keep the house around 72*. Ladies, you can always get more blankets or a long sleeve. How is a man supposed to cool off if he is hot, even while sleeping naked on top of the sheets? Come on, girls. LOL

  7. melissa1970 says:

We’re 73 degrees year round and no one complains. I’m not sure how we escaped that battle…but trust me, we have many others!

  8. Were a “Below Freezing” couple, but our electric bill isnt a big fan of that :S. We keep it at 72

  9. Jenni Catron says:

@Jenn – I’m with you. Love it when the thermostat is all mine to control.

@Judi – I live with a blanket or sweatshirt at all times!

  10. Heidi says:

I love it cold, (hot flashes) so my husband doesn’t complain to much..

  11. janowen says:

we do okay in the summer, but in the winter i am always cold. in the car we always disagree as well.

same story….i’m always cold and he’s always hot

  12. sarah o says:

i like it cooler…my hubby likes it warmer. this summer the temp has been set between 71-73 and its very comfy :)

  13. tam says:

i have like, ZERO blood pressure, so i am always cold.

    nuff said.

  14. Never. My daughter came yelling out of her room this morning that the house was freezing. No one is ever happy. ever. Pretty funny

  15. Melissa says:

We actually do agree. We leave it at 69 or 70 all year. I am not a nice person when I am hot, so we keep it on the cooler side.

  16. Ladybird says:

Since I have been pregnant, he lets me set it on whatever I want! LOL! That is why we wake up with frost on the windows! But normally, I let him set it, because I like to cover up with blankets anyway….I am more cozy that way.

  17. Pam says:

Ash’s mom and dad do NOT agree! I like it COLD he, not so much. Ash wears a hoody when she comes home to visit! :-)

Jenni – I love reading your blog everyday! -Ashley has encouraged me to comment several times – on this issue I can definitely relate!

  18. jdellis says:

This is a very sensitive subject in our home. My wife would live on the surface of the sun if that was possible. I tend to lean the other direction.

In the end I gave up controlling interest of the thermostat to acquire controlling interest of the remote control. I’m still not sure it was a good trade.

  19. Jenni Catron says:

Yeah Pam – so glad you finally commented!!

@jdellis – I think I could join your wife on the surface of the sun :) I need to work that deal with my husband. Currently he controls the theromostat AND the remote control!!

  20. we currently don’t have a thermostat in our apartment… and our bodies have adjusted to a wider range of temperatures! but, for the most part, drew likes it to be much cooler than i do.

i think that’s normal for men & women, though.

  21. This isn’t just a “marital” issue – as my roommate (dude) likes the thermostat so cold when he sleeps – I am talking like 68. I am freezing the whole time. I try to close the vents in my room, but it doesn’t seem to help.

Does this make me the woman in our relationship?

Like Tam above, I too have horrendously low blood pressure.

  22. rachbeav says:

We disagree but I just live with it and wear fuzzy slippers at all times and thick socks to bed because my feet are always cold. Talk about sex appeal gone awry but that’s the price he pays for living in the frozen tundra. Thankfully our van has separate controls so he can be 62 while I’m 78 on my side. :)

Like others said, I got my ‘revenge’ while I was pregnant. I would sleep in a tank top on top of the covers with the thermostat on 68 while JB was buried in covers.

  23. alex says:

Jen & I have come to a mutual agreement on the number 74 – it just works for us.
